Television and Me January 4, 2000 When I was little I wasn't allowed to watch television. My father didn't believe in it. Until I was eight I hardly watched any Television at all, just the occasional Sesame Street when my grandmother babysat me. Up until then It didn't really bother me because I had better things to do with my life. I would see my friends most of the time and my cousin lived with us so in my free time there was family. When I got older my friends would start talking about Friends and Home Improvement. I decided that I would bother my parents until my dad gave in. Finally, I was allowed an hour and a half a day. That sounds like a lot but for me at that time I felt like I had catching up to do. It was something new to me and I couldn't get enough. Since we had moved I didn't have anything to do after school and I had too much free time. When my parents divorced my mother finally let me freely watch television.
